How much does it cost?
- Because we sell custom window coverings, the cost varies greatly based on material selections, product options, window sizes, etc. The best way to get accurate pricing would be to request a Free In Home Consultation with one of our Window Covering Designers. At that appointment, we will provide you an accurate quote for your project. Our prices will be competitive considering the services we provide.
-
Is installation included?
- Yes, we know that every successful window covering project requires expert installation. We are a full service company and provide your installation by trained professional Installers to guarantee your job is completed correctly. Each Installer is background checked and certified to perform the installation. We are licensed, bonded and insured and carry contractors licenses in the states that it is applicable.

-
Can I install these myself?
- Is it cheaper if I do? We are a full service window covering company and install 100% of the window coverings that we sell. Our Installers are trained to safely and professionally install your window coverings to ensure a proper fit for a lifetime. In addition, the manufacturer’s product warranty only covers products that were installed by a certified Installer. Fun Fact – a new Installer will be in training for 6-12 months before they are allowed to perform their first solo installation.
-
Are the window treatments custom fit or do you get them from bulk stock and then wedge the fit in my window?
- Our window treatments are all custom fit to your unique window sizes. Window openings are never stock sizes and bulk stock blinds will never look or fit like a custom window covering. Bulk Stock blinds/shades are often made from cheap components and materials that reduce the performance and longevity of the product.
-
Do you offer a guarantee if we do not like the color or the fit?
- This is a common and valid concern. Oftentimes, customers rely on online companies, box stores, or inexperienced companies and do not receive the expert in home guidance they need to make the right window covering choice. Because they aren’t guided during their initial design, customers have to rely on a replacement. At Southwest Blinds & Shutters, have completed tens of thousands of projects and we have used that experience to create a design experience with checks and balances to ensure your project success. Our expert Window Covering Designers will guide you every step of the way using our education based design system. Once you move forward with your purchase, your design is rechecked by a Certified Installer to ensure the proper fit and function, and then rechecked again by our Ordering Team. All of this happens before your custom window covering order is placed.
-
Please explain the warranty from the manufacturer and from Southwest Blinds & Shutters.
- Warranties can be very misrepresented in the window covering industry. The manufacturer generally only covers the actual product for a limited amount of time and any service work or shipping needed for repairs is not covered. At Southwest Blinds & Shutters, we’ve partnered with the best manufacturers in the industry to offer a 3 part warranty that includes a manufacturer lifetime warranty, our exclusive “Worry Free Service Guarantee”, and our “Oops Warranty”. Our warranty program covers the way you live and is 5X longer than the industry average. We recommend you review the company’s warranties in detail before any purchase.
-
How do we clean them?
- Most hard window treatments like wood blinds and shutters are best cleaned with a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry cloth. Fabric treatments can be spot cleaned with water, vacuumed with a light attachment, or professionally cleaned.
-
Do you sub contract out the installation?
- Our Installers in Arizona and Nevada are full time employees of our company and we do not subcontract any installations in those areas. In California and Utah, we work with a select group of independent Installers who have been our long time partners and follow our same standards for workmanship and service.
-
Are the products made in America?
- Currently, 98% of our products are manufactured in North America which allows us to maintain consistent lead times and avoid the extended lead times many companies have dealt with during the pandemic.
-
Does someone have to come to my home, can’t I do my own measurements?
